It may seem silly to read to a newborn baby. But it’s not. Reading from day one is enormously important. It’s down-time. It’s cuddle time. It’s routine. It’s a time where senses gets stimulated and baby makes new connections and learns language. Board books are ideal, not only because they’re hardy enough to withstand a little drool, but you can tap them to keep baby’s attention while reading as they get older and more distracted. But at the end of the day, reading anything together is valuable!
