When Could a Parent Reach Out for Sleep Coaching Support?

There are many scenarios in which a parent may reach out for guidance to help them with their child’s sleep struggles.

  • Perhaps a parent has tried simple sleep advice without success, they may be worn out, tired, and unsure of the next steps for everyone to get a better night’s sleep.
  • Maybe there are changes and milestones that the parents would like to navigate and would like extra guidance to make these changes such as weaning from bed-sharing, night-weaning from breast or bottle feeding, or the use of a pacifier.
  • Parents that call in for sleep training guidance may be anxious, depressed, sleep deprived, or could just benefit from having a support system while making some changes in their routine.

How Can a Boston Baby Nurse Certified Sleep Coach Help Families?

Boston Baby Nurse sleep coaches are highly educated, trained professionals that are confident and reassuring. Their job is to support the parents and to help them feel confident in executing the plan. Our sleep coaches are available to help parents understand awake windows and daytime schedules that will lead to better sleep at night and less stress, anxiety, and better time management. Sleep coaches can also help parents navigate through early morning wake-ups, short naps, and sleeping through the night. Parents will have follow up communication available throughout the sleep coaching progress for continued support and adjustments .

What is “Sleep Training?”

Sleep training is guiding a baby or child to follow a bedtime routine, practice healthy sleep habits, and learn the ability to put oneself to sleep at the beginning of the night and throughout while maintaining a healthy attachment to their parents. A certified sleep coach will gently guide parents through a customized sleep plan, helping them to feel confident that their child is getting a better night’s sleep. A Boston Baby Nurse certified sleep coach understands that every child and family has different needs and will work with parents to fully understand the root of their sleep struggles.

Why is Sleep so Important?

A good, healthy, uninterrupted night of sleep is so important to a child’s development. This is because 65% of your child’s growth happens while sleeping! While we sleep our body is healing, removing toxins, regulating our hormones, transferring memories in our brains, resting, and restoring.

What Results Should I Expect?

Parents should expect to end their sleep training support feeling better rested and confident to know what to do if a problem arises. They will know what a good bedtime and daytime routine look like and understand healthy and unhealthy sleep habits. They will see a positive change in their child’s sleep. With a customized plan to follow, nighttime will feel less daunting for all.
